Our motto is “Children First” because we believe that every decision we make should be based on what is best for our students.  Animas Valley’s staff recognizes that children develop at different rates, and we adapt instruction to meet their individual needs, abilities, and interests.  We also believe that students can learn and achieve at the highest level when we coordinate efforts of the students, staff, and the Animas Valley community, all of our children will learn necessary skills and meet our high expectations for them.

5th Grade Creative with Gift

The 5th grade at Animas Valley school made hula hoops as a gift to the school.  They created four foot hoops to leave for the next 5th grade classes.  The district provided the hoop materials from a grant.  Each elementary school received enough supplies to make eighteen hoops.  The students used sprinkler tubing and electrical tape to create original works.  They will present the hoops to the school at a Monday morning meeting.  The students thought it was a cool thing to do for the fellow students they leave behind as they head off to middle school.
